Breakfast of Champions at Gulfport High School

Gulfport High School hosted a breakfast of champions this morning for the boys powerlifting team.
The strong and talented students took home the 6A State Championship on Saturday in Jackson. Five of the team members also won first place in their personal weight classes.
The young men gathered this morning in the library where their coaches and faculty threw them a celebratory breakfast. Sophomore Powerlifting member Ginarious Johnson tells News 25 he hopes the team can continue their success in future competitions. “Oh hard work, it’s like literally every day we’ll work out, even on days we like feel beat up, don’t want to get out of bed, we still have to get up and just go out and do our lifts and just get better and work even harder than we did last year.”
The MHSSA State Powerlifting Championships were held at the Mississippi Coliseum in Jackson. This is the third 6A State Championship for the Admirals powerlifting team.
