2025 Municipal Primary Election Results

SOUTH MISS (WXXV)-The polls have closed in the 2025 Municipal Primary Elections. Residents headed to the polls on Tuesday across the Coast to cast their vote.

The unofficial results for the municipal primary elections are below:

Bay St. Louis

Mayor:

  • Mike Favre (R), Incumbent: 1,454 votes
  • Gary Knoblock (R): 704 votes

Mayor Mike Favre wins re-election in Bay St. Louis

Council At Large:

  • Tad Black (R): 360 votes
  • Lonnie J. Falgout (R): 609 votes
  • Greg Loftin (R): 383 votes
  • Larry Smith (R):  762 votes

Ward 4:

  • Kyle Lewis (R), Incumbent: 261 votes
  • Jimmy Osbourn (R): 250 votes

Ward 5:

  • Linda Kay Davis (R), Incumbent: 253
  • Kathleen Hughes (R): 51

Ward 6:

  • Josh DeSalvo (R) Incumbent: 249 votes
  • Tami Curtis Guy (R): 71

Biloxi

Mayor:

  • A.M. “FoFo” Gilich (R), Incumbent: 2,422 votes
  • Jordan N. Gollub (R): 294 votes

Mayor Gilich will face off against Independent Andy Linville and Libertarian Farren Santibanez in the general election on June 3rd.

Ward 1:

  • Edward “Ed” Gemmill (R): 193 votes
  • Wayne Gray (R): 305 votes
  • Godfrey M. Meyer (R): 40

Ward 2:

  • Anthony L. Marshall (D): 244 votes
  • Tracey D. Smith (D): 25

Ward 3:

Incumbent Dixie Newman will face off against Robert ‘Mike’ Nail in a runoff. Newman received 154 votes and Nial received 121 votes.

Ward 4:

  • Jamie Creel (R): 575 votes
  • Rodney McGilvary (R), Incumbent: 454

Jamie Creel be unopposed in the General Election.

Diamondhead

Mayor:

  • Heidi Boyanton (R): 711 votes
  • Anna DeMarco Liese (R): 1,235

According to the unofficial results, Anna DeMarco Liese has won the mayoral primary. DeMarco Liese received 1,235 votes and Boyanton received 711 votes.

Council At-Large:

According to the unofficial results, Incumbent Gerard Maher defeats Joel Salsbury.

Ward 1:

According to the unofficial results, the ward one election is heading to a runoff. Incumbent Shane Finley will face off against Michael J. Fandal on April 22.

Ward 2:

According to the unofficial results, Richard ‘Ricky’ Sheppard wins the ward 2 primary, defeating Michael Meister. He faces no challengers in the general election.

Ward 3:

According to the unofficial results, Jessie Hardwood defeats Leo Marino in the ward 3 primary. Hardwood faces no challenges in the general election.

Ward 4:

According to the unofficial results, Incumbent Austin Clark defeats Kim Buckman. Clark faces no challengers in the general election.

Gautier

Mayor:

Incumbent Mayor Casey Vaughan and Republican Phil Torjusen are unopposed and will face off in the General Election on June 3rd.

Council at Large:

Gulfport

Democratic Mayoral Primary:

  • Ronald “Ronnie” Henderson (D): 612 votes
  • Sonya Williams Barnes (D): 3,280 votes

Williams Barnes will meet with Republican Hugh Keating in the General Election on June 3rd.

Ward 1:

According to the unofficial results, the ward 1 primary will head to a runoff between Kenneth ‘Truck’ Casey sr. and Kendal Lamar Buckner.  The winner of the primary faces no challengers in the General Election.

Ward 2:

According to the unofficial results, the unofficial ward 2 winner is Incumbent Ron Roland. Roland will face off against Democrat Valerie Ewing in the General Election.

Ward 3:

According to the unofficial results, Incumbent Ella Holmes-Hines defeats Patrick White and Ronnie Matthew Harris in the ward 3 primary. There are no challengers in the General Election.

Ward 5:

According to the unofficial results, BJ Sellers defeated Holly Gibbs, Don Harden, and Derek Bullock. Sellers will face off against Democrat Craig Elliot Raybon in the General Election.

Ward 6: Democratic Primary

According to the unofficial results, Carissa Corbett wins the democratic primary for ward 6 over Bajon Williams.

Ward 6: Republican Primary

According to the unofficial results, Incumbent Robert ‘R.Lee’ Flowers defeats Eddie Walley for the ward 6 republican primary.

Ward 7:

According to the unofficial results, Johnny Hoggatt wins the ward 7 primary. There are no challengers in the General Election.

Long Beach

Mayor:

  • Raymond DeFlaviis (R): 10
  • Larus “Wheelchair Larry” Gunnarsson (R): 31
  • Tim Pierce (R): 2,363
  • Glen Powell (R): 536

According to unofficial results, Pierce wins the primary and will be the new mayor of Long Beach, since no Democrat or Independent filed for the general election.

Ward 2:

  • Jesse Allen (R): 246 votes
  • Bernie D. Parker (R), Incumbent: 242 votes

Ward 3:

  • Joseph “Joey” Giuffria (R): 243 votes
  • Angela “Angie” Johnson (R), Incumbent: 148 votes
  • Erika Long (R): 71 votes

Ward 4:

  • Thomas “Skip” Elsworth (R): 216 votes
  • Timothy McCaffrey Jr. (R), Incumbent: 236 votes

Ward 5:

  • Mike Bohlke (R): 41 votes
  • Greg Bonds (R): 563 votes
  • Barbara D. Kimball (R): 94 votes
  • Clifford Yeoman (R): 6 votes

Ocean Springs

Mayor:

  • John K. “Kenny” Holloway (R), Incumbent: 708 votes
  • Robert E. “Bobby” Cox Jr. (R): 3,238 votes
  • Jon E. Hitchcock (R): 309 votes
  • Dennis G. McGrevey (R): 139 votes

According to unofficial results, Bobby Cox Jr. wins the primary, defeating incumbent Mayor Kenny Holloway. Cox Jr. will be the new mayor of Ocean Springs.

Alderman at large:

  • Ronald P. Chambers (R): 1,110 votes
  • Matthew C. Hinton Sr. (R): 2,302 votes
  • Daniel E. “Dan” Mobley (R): 230 votes
  • Adam Wilkerson (R):528 votes

Ward 1:

  • Jennifer L. Burgess (R), Incumbent: 262 votes
  • Steve B. Tillis (R): 452 votes

Ward 2:

  • Richard J. Authement (R), Incumbent: 464 votes
  • Karen C. Stennis (R): 631 votes

Ward 4:

  • Jerry T. Munro (R): 337 votes
  • Shannon Grace Pfeiffer (R): 470 votes

Ward 6:

  • Michael L. Impey II (R), Incumbent: 139 votes
  • Julie Messenger (R): 308 votes

Pascagoula

Mayor:

  • Jay Willis (R), Incumbent: 1,145 votes
  • David Bates (R): 826 votes

According to unofficial results, Mayor Willis has won re-election since there are no challengers in the General Election.

Ward 3:

Write-in primary due to death of former councilman Johnny Walker

Pass Christian

  • Mayor: Jimmy Rafferty, (R), incumbent: 710 votes, 45.6% of the votes
  • Kenny Torgeson (R): 847 votes, 55.4% of the votes

According to unofficial results, Kenny Torgeson wins the primary and will be the new mayor of Pass Christian, defeating incumbent Mayor Jimmy Rafferty.

Alderman at Large:

  • Scott Naugle (R): 694 votes
  • Victor Pickich (R): 841 votes

Moss Point

Mayor:

  • Billy E. Knight Sr. (D), Incumbent: 1,353 votes
  • Gerald H. McGee (D): 336

Mayor Knight will meet up with Republican candidate Richard McBridge in the General Election on June 3rd.

Alderman at Large:

  • Howard Bailey (D): 1,226
  • David E. Chapman Sr. (D), Incumbent: 399

Ward 1:
