Mississippi Aquarium releasing eight turtles

BILOXI, Miss. (WXXV)- Turtle season continues on the Gulf Coast and the Mississippi Aquarium is hosting a turtle release on Thursday.

Eight Kemp’s Ridley sea turtles will be released off Biloxi Beach at 4 p.m. across the street from Edgewater Mall.

All the turtles are named after Taylor Swift songs.

These turtles came to the aquarium in December through a partnership through an aquarium in New England.

The public is invited to come out and take part in the fun.
