HII launches USS Jeremaiah Denton DDG 129

PASCAGOULA, Miss. (WXXV)-Ingalls Shipbuilding has launched future Guided Missile Destroyer USS Jeremiah Denton.

The launch happened earlier this week and became the third  Arleigh Burke Class Flight Three Destroyer to be built at the shipyard.

The Arleigh Burke Class Flight Three Destroyer features an air and missile defense radar, along with the EE-JIS baseline 10 Combat System.

The vessel is named after former Alabama U.S. Senator Jeremiah Denton Jr., who was a Vietnam War veteran and was awarded the Navy Cross.
