Biloxi mayor gives update on city projects at Breakfast with Mayor event
BILOXI, Miss. (WXXV)-Mayor FoFo Gilich spent the morning talking about major projects in Biloxi with community leaders.
The Biloxi Chamber of Commerce’s Breakfast with the Mayor at Memorial Hospital Biloxi touched on the city’s economic landscape specifically and work being done like the Saenger Theatre renovations.
Also, during the breakfast, the Quarterly Awards were also given out in recognition of outstanding police officer, firefighter, airman, and nurse. Mayor Gilich said, “Well the big projects, of course from the west to the east, we’re sitting right here in Memorial Hospital Biloxi which is a big commitment to improve and enhance our health care position. But then the activity out to the west, the extension of Popps Ferry Blvd which has already seen tremendous growth opportunities with Rouses but also the repair and maintenance of the bridge has been troublesome since the 70s. Then A.J. Holloway Sports Complex, $6 million in improvements there. We also talked about the Lighthouse pier project which is a challenge and we’re trying to work with FEMA and MEMA to get that project on track going to funding.”
It was a unique opportunity for the community to stay informed about the latest developments in the City of Biloxi.
