Gulf Coast Monarchy’s final home game is Saturday

The 1-2 Gulf Coast Monarchy is asking for support from the community as they take the field at home for the last time of the team’s inaugural season.

The Coast’s only women’s pro-tackle football team is coming off its first win of the season, 46-6 against Louisiana Bayou Storm Surge.

Saturday, the Monarchy is hosting a rematch against Zydeco Spice. The last time these two teams faced off on the gridiron, Zydeco came away with the victory 26-20.

Now, in their final game in front of a home crowd, Gulf Coast is looking for another W. GC Monarchy Wide Receiver/ Special Teams Jenny Williams said, “We are looking for redemption all the way. Anyone who had time to stream the first game that we were actually playing on their turf, it was an all-out brawl. So, we are looking for nothing but redemption this time on our turf, our field, and yeah, we’re coming. We’re ready.”

The game kicks off at 6 p.m. at St. Martin Football Field. Tickets can be purchased through the Gulf Coast Monarchy’s Facebook page.
