Singing River Electric linemen to help Magnolia Electric Power with post-tornado power restoration

Singing River

After working long hours on Saturday restoring power during the extreme wind event, Singing River Electric linemen are traveling this afternoon to Magnolia Electric Power based in Summit, Miss. after tornadoes caused extensive damage.

Magnolia Electric reports having 270 broken poles. Their outage number is relatively low at 1,297, but changing out that many poles and restringing the power lines to restore service is a massive task.

The towns of Tylertown, Progress, and Salem are in Magnolia Electric’s service area.
