Bike Safety Rodeo set for this weekend in Biloxi
May is National Bike Safety Month and local groups in Biloxi are teaming up once again to make sure everyone’s bikes are ready for the summer.
Biloxi Main Street, along with Safe Kids Gulf Coast, is preparing for a Bike Safety Rodeo coming up on Saturday.
The goal is for crews to inspect bikes and help inflate tires as well as enjoy bike paths in the Downtown Biloxi area.
Organizers say cycling has seen an increase in popularity during the COVID-19 pandemic and it’s nice to be able to bring back this free event for local residents. Biloxi Main Street Executive Director Kay Miller said, “It’s a great way to get your bicycles ready for summer, come downtown, maybe go to eat afterwards. We’ve got nice wide sidewalks and bicycle lanes downtown, so it’s a fun thing to do.”
The safety rodeo starts at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday at Lighthouse Park with a mid-point stop at MGM Park and wrapping up at the finish line in Downtown Biloxi.
