Biloxi Shuckers throw first combined no-hitter

Sunday, the Biloxi Shuckers and Mississippi Braves combined to score 24 runs in a 14-10 win for the Shuckers.

By contrast, those same teams combined for just one run on Saturday in what turned out to be a historical night at MGM Park.

Led by Mississippi State alum Ethan Small, the Shuckers threw the first combined nine-inning no-hitter in franchise history.

In his first start back in the Magnolia State since 2019, Small, the fourth ranked prospect of the Milwaukee Brewers, struck out six across five scoreless innings before turning things over to Zach Vennaro, Nathan Kirby, and Matt Hardy to finish the job.

The quartet actually combined to issue eight walks, but walks aren’t hits.
