IMMS hosts sea turtle release Friday morning

Fog couldn’t stop another turtle release from happening Friday morning.

IMMS staff released one Kemp’s Ridley sea turtle in front of Edgewater Mall.

It’s the latest cold-stunned and rehabilitated turtle in IMMS’ care to recover enough to be returned to its natural habitat.

Barrie Nelson from Governor Reeves’ office was visiting for Spring Break, her daughter Zoey having the honor of officially releasing the turtle.

And get this, the turtle’s name is Zoey too!
