Saferooms opening due to potential severe weather Saturday

SOUTH MISSISSIPPI, (WXXV)- In anticipation of potential severe weather in the area, saferooms are opening in South Mississippi.

All three community safe rooms in Pearl River County will open Saturday, March 14th, 2025 at 8:00 AM and remain open until the threat of severe weather has passed. Pets are not allowed. Please bring anything you may need (food, water, etc.)

Those saferooms are located at:

  • Poplarville – 124 Rodeo Street
  • Carriere- 7431 Highway 11 South
  • Picayune- 501 Laurel Street
