06/02 Ryan’s “Still Rainy” Friday Forecast

Eddie Rabbit must have been thinking about his particular week on the Gulf Coast when he wrote “I Love a Rainy Night,” because we’ve had plenty with still a few more to go. Saturday is expected to be more of the same with spotty showers in the morning leading to stronger showers and storms in the afternoon (right now around 2 PM is looking the most likely). After this wave moves through, we’ll likely see some light clearing, but more rainy conditoins will return and are expected to last until at least Tuesday. Localized areas of heavy rainfall (1-3″ possible) are the most likely threat, but no severe weather risk is expected at this time.

By Tuesday, a cold front will begin pushing into the area, and is expected to finally pass through as almost a “back door” front, coming in from the North or Northeast. Skies will begin to break up as rain chances plummet into Wednesday, and by Thursday at least mostly cloudy skies are expected. As Friday rolls around and the weekend is on the horizon, clear & sunny skies are expected with much drier air, but temperatures will warm to near 90 degrees.
