St. Vincent De Paul Thrift Store grand opening in Ocean Springs

It was a day of celebration in Ocean Springs as St. Vincent De Paul Thrift Store cut the giant red ribbon and officially opened their doors.

City leaders, family, and friends were on hand supporting Rob Greuling, the president of the St. Vincent De Paul store, through the emotional grand opening.

During the celebration, dozens of customers made their way up and down the aisles and to the register, happy with their purchases made at a great deal and for an even greater cause.

Earlier this week, News 25 brought you a sneak peek inside the nonprofit, where the main goal is to help fund a community homeless shelter for those in need of a helping hand.

Greuling says he has no words to describe his appreciation for his community. “It makes me emotional. There is a lot of love here. A lot of people who have supported us have shown up. A lot of people who have recently learned about us through news coverage have shown up. Members of our conferences have shown up to support us. It’s a tremendous event.”

Everyone who works at the thrift store is a volunteer and all proceeds go towards building a homeless shelter.
