Gulfport Egg-Stravaganza drive-thru postponed
The weather is putting a little bit of a damper on the Gulfport Egg-Stravaganza Drive-thru Egg Hunt that was supposed to be happening this evening at the Gulfport Sportsplex.
The modified Easter Egg Hunt has been postponed to next Tuesday, March 30th at 6 p.m.
Due to COVID-19, the hunt this year will be a drive-thru format. However, there will still be plenty of treats to be given out.
The Easter Bunny will be handing out goodie bags along with Easter pails filled with eggs. Additionally, nine local organizations will be distributing pre-packaged items.
Last year, the city had to cancel both of its Easter Egg hunts due to the pandemic. Gulfport Leisure Services Special Events Manager Brittaney Dyess said, “Normally here at the Sportsplex in the past, prior to COVID-19, we would have between six and seven hundred children and adults, families come out to the function. And then we also do the one in Jones Park where we had good numbers, exceeding 700 plus. We’re hoping for–let’s just be positive in the new year.”
