Town Hall for municipal candidates in Gulfport
Tonight, candidates for local offices in Mississippi’s second largest city gathered to meet voters and outline their plans for the next four years if elected.
The Municipal Town Hall for Gulfport mayoral and city council candidates was held at the Isiah Fredericks Community Center.
Current officeholders running for re-election as well as other city council hopefuls answered questions from the public and discuss issues important to Gulfport at this time.
Moderator Bobby Hudson hopes this discussion promotes positive communication between candidates and the public as Election Day nears. “That is what I hope to get out of this. Is that our candidates and our citizens have a more flexible relationship and an easier path of communication when it comes not to only elections but events and programs that the city might be hosting, making sure that we’re really connected with the community.”
Hudson plans on holding another town hall for candidates in May or June before the general election.
