Gulfport Community Cleanup this Saturday
In efforts to beautify Gulfport, community leaders are calling for volunteers this Saturday to help clean up Hewes Avenue.
The continued partnership with Gulfport police and community leaders has increased volunteerism in Gulfport. The goal of the 12-month community cleanup program is to unify the neighborhood and encourage a sense of pride when living in a cleaner environment.
To volunteer, meet up at Katie Patterson Booth Community Center in Gulfport at 7:30 a.m. Extend a Hand, Help a Friend CEO Jeffrey Hulum III said, “Continue to show the community, and the process of curb appeal and the visualization of a clean community and also helping increasing our environment. All volunteers are welcome, especially the youth, we’d like to get the youth involved so we can show the youth they can start young. Not just by volunteerism but the importance of environmental safety and environmental justice.”
Safety vest, trash bags, and cleaning tools will be provided to volunteers on Saturday.
