Axe throwing tournament at the Blake Senior Living Center
Skal Axe Throwing was grooming its newest group of expert axe throwers this afternoon in Biloxi.
Skal Owner Daniel McNatt brought a modified version of his bar’s fun activity over to the Blake Senior Living Center for an axe throwing tournament in the courtyard.
Prior to the beginning of the tournament, McNatt and his staff taught residents the best axe throwing techniques.
The residents seemed to pick up the activity pretty fast, including the tournament’s first round winner Rachel Lowe. “Hey, it was great because I won. With a score of three! I don’t think that’s a very good score, but how would I know? I’ve never thrown an axe before. It was a lot of fun and I’m enjoying being at The Blake and out in the sunshine. And I thank all my opponents for their try, but I beat you! And I got these sunglasses and this great shirt that I think is going to be too small.”
Lowe says axe throwing isn’t as easy as it looks, but if McNatt brings it back to the Blake she’ll throw again.
