Improvements coming to Lighthouse Park in Pascagoula
The Lighthouse Park in Pascagoula will be getting some improvements soon thanks to tidelands funds.
The city was recently awarded $450,000 in tidelands funds from the Department of Marine Resources.
Engineers are continuing to work on a design plan for the Pascagoula Park. Possible improvements include additional parking, an observation pier, kayak launch, and new playground equipment, just to name a few. Pascagoula Public Information Officer Katarina Luketich said, “Lighthouse Park here is one of our most popular boat launches. If you come here during a Saturday or a Sunday, during the summer, it is packed with boats and trailers that use it. What this money from the DMR is going to allow us to do is make it more functional, not only for the people who use it for boating on the weekends but also for families, and for the city to host more events here.”
The overall goal is to increase functionality of this popular park, both for events and family use.
