Memorial distributing vaccine in multiple communities

Memorial Hospital is hosting vaccination distributions across the Coast.

They had distributions in Gulfport at the Isaiah Fredericks Community Center. Their goal is to hold distributions in a variety of locations to ensure there is equal opportunity for qualifying individuals.

Ward 1 Councilman Kenneth ‘Truck’ Casey received his first dose of the Moderna vaccine and was impressed with their outreach. “My second shot is due February 17^th and I encourage everybody to take the shot whichever one it is, take the shot.”

Gary Fredericks with NAACP Gulfport and Memorial Board of Trustees said, “We’re going to be here and we’re committed to the diverse population and community for the long haul. So, those people that didn’t have the opportunity today, we will be scheduling additional clinical treatments in the community here.”

You do need to have an appointment to receive a vaccine from Memorial. Supplies are limited. Call 228-867-5000 to book your appointment or to be placed on a waiting list.
