Frustration over construction in Biloxi

Biloxi City Councilman Felix Gines threatens to cut funding to Oscar Renda Contracting for lack of representation at city council meetings.
Gines says the company working the massive infrastructure project has not given any updates to the council members on the progress. He expressed frustration with the bumpy road conditions as well as water puddles in east Biloxi during last night’s council meeting.
Gines tells News 25 if no representatives from Oscar Renda attend any future council meetings, he will call upon his fellow council members to cut the company’s funding. “We can’t wait until this project gets finished. My confidence in the construction people is pretty much shaken at this point. We’re three years into it and I still have road problems. I, myself in particular, still have water puddles of water in front of my home.”
The multi-million dollar infrastructure project tackles 55 miles of roads in east Biloxi. The expected finish date is July 2018.
