AG Fitch announces completion of Human Trafficking and Fentanyl Strike Force Operation on the MS Gulf Coast

(Jackson, Mississippi) Today, Attorney General Lynn Fitch announced the completion of Operation Game Over, a four-day joint operation on the Mississippi Gulf Coast led by her Human Trafficking Task Force and Fentanyl Strike Force.
The operation resulted in 33 arrests, recovery of four human trafficking victims and one child, and seizure of methamphetamines, ecstasy, cocaine, marijuana, hydrocodone, Adderall, fentanyl, and at least one stolen firearm.
“In this one operation, we seized enough fentanyl to kill 8,580 people,” said Attorney General Fitch. “But we only scratched the surface of the poison being peddled to our children. My team is committed to taking criminals who traffic people and drugs off the streets and to dismantling their illegal activities that exploit others for profit. We are grateful to our federal, state, and local law enforcement partners who worked with us on Operation Game Over and who are a part of our task force network, including the Human Trafficking Task Force and Fentanyl Strike Force.”
During Operation Game Over, which ran February 5 to 8, 2025, Mississippi Attorney General’s Office investigators and prosecutors worked with federal, state, and local law enforcement partners to serve 14 search warrants, make 33 human trafficking and narcotics arrests, and seize a variety of drugs, including 55 grams of fentanyl- enough to kill 8,580 Mississippians.
The following agencies participated:
- Biloxi Police Department
- D’Iberville Police Department
- Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA)
- Harrison County Sheriff’s Office
- Homeland Security Investigations (HSI)
- Jackson County Sheriff’s Office
- MS Bureau of Investigation (MBI)
- MS Department of Revenue- Alcoholic Beverage Control (ABC)
- MS Gaming Commission
In addition to law enforcement partners, the Gulf Coast Center for Nonviolence provided services and treatment to the victims that were recovered during this operation.
Since launching Be the Solution, Attorney General Fitch’s office has trained 516 officers from across the state. The Attorney General’s human trafficking team has led multi-jurisdictional operations that have led to the rescue of 336 victims and 98 arrests, as well as countless leads in the effort to disrupt and stop trafficking operations in Mississippi.
Attorney General Fitch announced the creation of the Fentanyl Strike Force in 2023 with the roll-out of her One Pill Can Kill public education and awareness campaign. More than 400 officers have been trained in narcotics investigations, as well as the use of naloxone and fentanyl test strips.
