Memorial Day Biker Blowout beats the rain in Gulfport

The rain might have shown up early on this Memorial Day, but the Biker Blowout in Gulfport beat the weather with their ceremony to honor the fallen men and women of the U.S. military.
The annual weekend event brings together motorcycle riders from across the country for live music, racing and other festivities. Each year on the Sunday before Memorial Day, the Armed Forces Motorcycle Club participates in a flag raising ceremony that reminds all those in attendance that Memorial Day is meant to be a somber occasion. Hua with the Armed Forces Motorcycle Club said, “Memorial Day Weekend is about remembering those who paid the ultimate sacrifice for everybody in this nation to be able to do what we do this weekend, hangout, camp and have a good time with friends, brotherhood, and family. I think that sometimes we forget that this weekend is about those fallen service members. We’ll be back every single year. Sunday at 10 a.m. we do the flag raising out here on Memorial Day Weekend. I encourage everybody to come watch it. It’s a very somber and respectful ceremony that we do for our veterans.”
The Armed Forces Motorcycle Club is a nationwide organization made up of active duty, honorably discharged, or retired veterans.
