Future of Enviva sites in Mississippi
The future of two South Mississippi industrial facilities is in question.
The news comes after Enviva announced it is closing its plant in Amory, Mississippi, according to our media partner, the Sun Herald.
The company opened a wood pellet manufacturing plant in Lucedale in 2022 and had plans to open another plant in Stone County, just north of Wiggins.
Those plans were put on hold after Enviva filed for bankruptcy last year, but the company says it will continue to operate in George and Jackson counties, where they employ around 100 people.
