25 Ocean Springs Greyhound athletes put pen to paper on National Signing Day
The Ocean Springs Greyhounds had 25 student-athletes sign to continue their athletic careers at the next level.
From golf and tennis to basketball, baseball, softball and football – the Greyhounds had so many signees that they had to have two events. WXXV caught up with those student-athletes are who taking the leap from high school sports to college athletes.
“Ever since the first day I started playing softball the only thing I wanted to do was go and play college softball,” Gracie McDonald said. “Now that I get to basically live out my dream of playing softball at the next level…I just feel so blessed. I t’s all I could ever ask for.”
“It feels good just working my whole life for this,” Cannon Hensarling said. “Constant hours in the gym and in the facility, good people around me, I am just really super excited.”
“It’s such a wonderful community,” Addison Rainey said. “Just the running community and the environment I get to be in with my sport, I just love it so much. It means so much to me to get to compete at the next level because it just means four more years of getting to do the thing that I love.”
