Mississippi Aquarium collecting beads for bead recycling program

Mardi Gras season is in full swing. After all the fun is done, there is one place here on the Coast that wants all those leftover beads and throws.

For another year, the Mississippi Aquarium is kicking off its Mardi Gras Bead Recycling Program. Unwanted throws can be dropped off daily from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m. all the way until March 15th. They can be dropped off at the aquarium’s ticketing plaza or the MSAQ security offices on 22nd Avenue in Gulfport.

The Mississippi Aquarium says by collecting beads and throws it helps to prevent them from ending up in the environment and potentially harming wildlife here along the Coast.
