This isn’t any different,” said the junior, Skylan Hunter. “Getting up at 5 o’clock in the morning to being here late at night when I could be having fun, I’d rather be in here getting right and getting ready for my sport.”

“My coach is always updating me on the people ahead of me trying to get me to go further and he always has me with these hard outrageous workouts that’s going to make me better regardless,” said Hunter. “I just want to come out of Mississippi knowing I’m the best. I see people around my school that’s cool with being mediocre, but I’ve never been that type of dude. When I leave Ocean Springs high school, I want my name to be cemented in the history of track and field.”
Hunter has two more seasons in the blue and white to do so with the season opener taking place in Ocean Springs on February 27th. here’s to the beginning of new heights for “Skyman” and his track and field journey.
“Any college that wants to pick me up you know and get my education first to take me through life,” said Hunter. “Track and field is alright and cool, but at the end of the day I’m trying to build a career and have something outside of this.”
