Bass Pro Shops announces new store coming to the Coast
Bass Pro Shops has announced its intention to add a store in Mississippi at Lemoyne Landing in Jackson County.
The news was hailed by Gov. Tate Reeves, who said, “Mississippi is proud to welcome Bass Pro Shops to the Lemoyne Landing development, a project that exemplifies the best of what our state has to offer — strong partnerships, a thriving economy, and a deep appreciation for the outdoors.
“Bass Pro Shops’ decision to invest in Jackson County speaks volumes about the region’s potential as a hub for economic opportunity and tourism. This is a win for Mississippi families, sportsmen, and communities across the Gulf Coast.”
Bass Pro Shops’ newest store, which will be located along the I-10 corridor near the Lamey Bridge Road exit, will be the company’s second in the state and the first in the southern part of the state. The property is on Mallet Road in Jackson County, east of The Grand 18 movie theaters.
The 75,000 square-foot outdoor superstore is expected to open early 2027. There is no date yet for a groundbreaking.
“Jackson County is thrilled to welcome Bass Pro Shops to the community. Bass Pro Shops is not just a retail powerhouse but also a community partner that shares our values of conservation and outdoor recreation. This transformative development represents a significant investment in our county’s future, and we are proud to play a role in bringing such an iconic brand to the Gulf Coast,” said Barry Cumbest, president of the Jackson County Board of Supervisors.
Bass Pro Shops is expected to employ more than 125 “Outfitters” at the Jackson County location when it opens.
