Cold weather shelters opening on the Coast
Due to the anticipated cold weather, shelters are opening across South Mississippi.
In Harrison County, the Kenny Fournier Multipurpose Center on Automall Parkway in D’Iberville opens Monday at 4:30 p.m.
The Salvation Army Center of Hope opens at 6 p.m. That is located at 2019 22nd Street, Gulfport. Both Harrison County shelters will be open tonight and subsequent nights as necessary.

In Stone County, a warming center will open at the Farris O’Neal Senior Center located at 1240 Magnolia Ave South, Wiggins, MS starting Monday, January 20, 2025, at 5 PM. The center will remain open until Thursday, January 23, 2025, at 7 AM. Please bring your own blankets and food.
In Hancock County, a cold weather shelter will be open until January 22nd at the Emergency Operations Center building. That building is located at 18333 Highway 603, Kiln. The shelter is open from 6 p.m. until 8 a.m. If you needs a ride to the shelter, contact Hancock County Central Dispatch at 228-255-9191.
