Gulfport teen among 15 killed in New Orleans terror attack

The death toll for the deadly New Years attack in New Orleans on Bourbon Street has now risen to fifteen.

Among those killed was possibly eighteen year old Nikyra Dedeaux of Gulfport.

According to media reports and her mother’s Facebook page, Nikyra Dedeaux was among those killed in New Orleans in the attack early on Wednesday morning.

She was a former student at Harrison Central High School in Gulfport who graduated in May of 2024.

Her mother, Melissa Dedeaux, posted on her Facebook on Wednesday grieving the loss of her daughter. She expressed that her baby is now gone and no longer with us. She is asking for prayers for her and the rest of the family as they deal with this loss.
