Fourth annual ‘Feed the Need’ fish fry
A South Mississippi group is using a fish fry to feed the needy in Ocean Springs.
Sunday, June 4th in the heart of downtown Ocean Springs everyone is invited to show up for the fourth annual Feed the Need fish fry benefiting the Lord is my Help Soup Kitchen. Organizers say there will be local bands, fun for the whole family, and local seafood.
On top of that, all money raised through raffles, silent auctions, and more go to help feed those less fortunate in Jackson County. Feed the Need Volunteer Susannah Snyder said, “Our soup kitchen in Ocean Springs does so much for so many people all throughout Jackson County. They serve over 150 meals a day and they deliver 150 meals and over 400 bags of groceries a month to the elderly, people who are homebound from disabilities, and families along Jackson County. It’s really important and this is definitely our biggest fundraiser of the year.”
The event takes place from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. at Government Street Grocery in Ocean Springs. Blackwater Brass and other local bands will perform.
