How you can get involved in Giving Tuesday across South Mississippi

Giving Tuesday is a global day of giving which takes place after Thanksgiving, encouraging people to donate their time and money to charitable causes.

It’s one of the biggest chances for nonprofits to highlight their missions, boosts donations, and gain some new supporters. There’s plenty of ways to take part here in South Mississippi, such as giving money and donations, volunteering, or paying it forward to those around you. If you’re looking to make an impact, there’s plenty of organizations across South Mississippi who would be more than happy to accept your time and donations.

There’s the United Way of South Mississippi, which strives to improve the quality of life for everyone in our region. If you’re looking to help out some animal friends, the Jackson County Animal Shelter and the Humane Society of South Mississippi are always in need of volunteers. Of course there’s the Salvation Army helping to spread holiday cheer and then the American Red Cross of Mississippi helping those affected by disasters. There’s also the Gulf Coast and Stone County Community Foundations which promote the improvement of communities across the coast.

These are just a few examples of organizations in which you can donate your time and money to on Giving Tuesday. If you feel that there are other non profits we didn’t mention that others should know about, let us know our WXXV News 25 Facebook Page. There is currently a post where you can share how you’ll be giving back on this Giving Tuesday.
