Meggan Monday: Holiday Events across the Coast
It’s the holiday season and there are lots of events coming up in the next few weeks to appeal to shoppers, the community, and the kids.
It all kicked off the Friday after Thanksgiving with the Gulfport Harbor Lights Winter Festival at Jones Park in Gulfport. The light show runs daily, weather permitting, through December 31st expect Christmas Day.
A few events are happening this week before it kicks into high gear.
On December 5th, Ocean Springs will have its tree lighting beginning at 6 p.m.
The following night, December 6th, is the annual Christmas in the Pass event that begins at 4 p.m. in Downtown Pass Christian.
On Saturday, December 7th, events begin early and run all day across the Coast.
Vancleave, Gulfport, Gautier, Moss Point, D’Iberville, Long Beach, Gulfport, and Biloxi will all have city-wide events and parades.
On Pearl Harbor Day, the Biloxi National Cemetery will welcome volunteers to lay wreaths on the headstones at the cemetery starting at 11 a.m.
The day finishes up with Christmas on the water in Biloxi and the annual Sounds of the Holidays at 7 p.m. at MGCCC’s iMPAC Center. They also will have a 2 p.m. matinee on Sunday,
The following weekend, music takes over with a soulful Christmas at 100 Men Hall and the Singing Christmas Tree at First Baptist Church in Biloxi.
On December 21st, the day starts with selfies with Santa at Mockingbird Café and Pusharatas for Possums Benefit for Wild at Heart.
If you haven’t gotten into the Christmas Spirit by then, go catch Chapel Hart’s ‘the Sounds of Christmas’ at the Sound Amphitheater on December 23rd.
