Playoff Preview: Gautier prepares for round two of the football playoffs

The Gators are led by 5A Mr. Football, quarterback Trey Irving. Gautier is coming off a nail-biting 36-30 victory over the Natchez Bulldogs where Irving and the Gators offense took the lead in the final minute of regulation.

The week the play host to the Wayne County War Eagles. No playoff win comes east, especially in the 5A class, and the Gators know that.

“It’s like we told them every day this year, every practice, just get one percent better than the day before,” head coach Marc High said. “Then over a season you are going to see miles and miles of improvement.”

“It means the world to all of us,” offensive lineman Geraldo Lara said. “It’s crazy to imagine how far we have come from my freshman year. We are just having fun.”
