Designer of iconic coast logos has passed away

The Gulfport History Museum lost a longtime member…

Darryl Breckinridge passed away on October 18th.

He was born in Gulfport, working in a graphic design firm while serving as vice president of marketing at Hancock Bank for 16 years.

Logos designed by Breckinridge include the Sun Herald, Coast Chamber of Commerce, and the evolution of the Ship Island Lighthouse design in the Hancock Bank logo.

A celebration of life will be held on November 19th at the Bradford-O’Keefe Funeral Home in Gulfport.

Visitation starts at 12:30 with services following at 2 PM.
