AMR hands-only CPR training in Gulfport

It only takes 30 seconds to learn how to save a life.
The song ‘Stayin’ Alive’ could be heard echoing through the lobby of Hancock Bank in downtown Gulfport today. AMR uses the song to help teach CPR. The rhythm of the song keeps you on beat to complete 100 chest compressions in a minute.
Across the nation, it is AMR’s goal to teach one million people how to do CPR, a skill that is already helping save lives right here on the Coast. Rickey Fayard with AMR Community Relations said, “CPR has made a huge difference. The national average is around 17 percent for cardiac arrest nationwide. Here on the Mississippi Gulf Coast we have a 39 percent cardiac arrest save ratio. That’s due to early CPR, early defibrillation and good first responders.”
AMR will be at the Bay. St. Louis Library tomorrow for more on-site CPR training.
