Dirt Cheap, Treasure Hunt to close doors as part of bankruptcy
The parent company of Dirt Cheap, Treasure Hunt and Dirt Cheap Building Supplies has filed for bankruptcy according to court documents.
Channel Control Merchants, based in Hattiesburg, filed for bankruptcy on October 10, 2024. The business began as Hudson’s Salvage and grew from there.
As part of the bankruptcy proceedings, all retail stores will close, with store closing sales expected at each location ahead of the move, expected before the end of the year.
South Mississippi is home to seven Dirt Cheap locations — in Orange Grove, two in Long Beach, Gautier, Lucedale, Bay St. Louis, Wiggins and Picayune.
In addition, there is a Treasure Hunt located on Highway 49 south of Airport Road and a Dirt Cheap Building Supplies in Lucedale that also are scheduled to close.
