10/9 – Sam Parker’s “Milton Approaches Florida” Wednesday Evening Forecast

Hurricane Milton is a Few hours away from landfall as a Category 3 Hurricane. Milton had a wide spread tornado outbreak earlier this afternoon now flash flooding and storm surge on high alert heading into tonight. Milton on track to be just south of Tampa for landfall around 11 PM CT. Back here dry air continues to filter into the area behind a front moving into the central Gulf and moisture will struggle to return for some time keeping the muggy away. For the rest of the work week, we probably couldn`t ask for a quieter forecast. Milton will continue to work east with the troughing pattern remaining over the east coast. We continue to see dewpoints drop a little lower than expected leading to humidity values ranging from the mid 30s to near 50%. The drier air along with clear skies will aid in the cooling overnight and lows should fall into the upper 50s to lower 60s again.
