Murder-suicide in hospital parking lot in Picayune

A tragic situation out of Picayune, police are investigating an alleged murder-suicide in the parking lot of Highland Community Hospital.

Picayune police say it happened just before 3 p.m. They received a call from a woman who told police she shot her mother and needed help.

That woman then shot herself inside a car just outside the emergency room just before police arrived. Both women died from their injuries after ER units responded.

No hospital staff or patients were injured in this incident.
