National Guard Base hosting college and career fair

The Mississippi Air National Guard is holding a college and career fair today at the Trent Lott National Guard Training Complex.

Representatives from different colleges and career areas stopped by schools along the Coast today. They were at West Harrison High School and Pass Christian earlier this morning.

The fair runs from 10:15 until 11:30 at Ocean Springs High School and Bay High School and from 11:30 until 12:45 at Harrison Central Career and Technical Center.

The base is home to numerous Mississippi Army and Air National Guard units including the 1108th Aviation Group, the 890th Engineer Battalion, Field Maintenance Shop #4, the Gulfport Aviation Classification Repair Activity Depot, the 255th Air Control Squadron, the 209th Special Operations Civil Engineer Squadron, and the Gulfport Combat Readiness Training Center.

The complex is responsible for more than 1,300 full-time and reserve Soldiers and Airmen as well as numerous civilian employees.

On average, more than 24,000 Soldiers, Sailors, Marines, Airmen, Guardians, and Coast Guardsmen train at the complex annually.
