Keesler conducting hazmat exercise on base today
Keesler Air Force Base will conduct a hazardous material exercise today.
The exercise will evaluate first responders and test the base on reaction and recovery actions during a hazardous materials incident.
“Keesler attempts to execute as many realistic events as possible during a HAZMAT exercise. This allows first responders and other personnel to hear and see what may occur if a real incident occurs,” said William Mays, Inspections Specialist.
Personnel and visitors should anticipate impact on travel, increased security measures and emergency-response vehicles moving around the installation. These exercise activities may interrupt or delay base operations and services.
