Gulfport issues emergency road closure for repair of drainage cave in

(Gulfport, MS) –The City of Gulfport has issued an ‘Emergency Road Closure,’ affecting citizens and businesses in the surrounding areas of 22nd Avenue between 22nd Street and 23rd Street for the repair of a drainage cave-in.

22nd Street, 23rd Avenue, 23rd Street, and 21st Avenue will be used as the designated detour route, ensuring minimal disruption to citizens and businesses in the area.

The ‘Emergency Road Closure’ will take effect Friday, September 20, 2024, at 7:00 AM and is expected to reopen, Monday, March 24, 2025, at 3:30 PM, weather permitting.

The City of Gulfport is asking all citizens to observe and follow all traffic markers placed in the area.
