Beach Elementary ranked #1 elementary school in Mississippi

South Mississippi school districts are celebrating after the release of the state academic accountability reports today.

Some south Mississippi schools coming out at the top of their respective categories.

In Pascagoula, Beach Elementary held a big celebration after the news broke the school is the top-rated elementary school in the state of Mississippi, based on the 2023-2024 scores.

WXVV News 25 spoke to school leaders about how hard the faculty and students have worked over the years to get to this point.

“It shows a lot, from our students and teachers,” said Michelle Brewer, the principal of Beach Elementary. “Our teachers really used different teaching strategies and methods to keep students engaged and to meet every different level of our students. So we can meet those needs.”

Overall, the Pascagoula-Gautier School District maintained its “A” rating as a district this year.
