Cover the Cruiser fundraiser for Law Enforcement Torch Run for the Special Olympics of Mississippi
We are joined by Chief Deputy Randy Muffley of the Jackson County Sheriff’s Department and Assistant Chief Chris DeBack from the Biloxi Police Department.
They are here to talk about the department’s efforts to cover a cruiser.
Cover the Cruiser is a fundraiser to help raise money for the Law Enforcement Torch Run for the Special Olympics Mississippi.
The LETR began in 1981 in Wichita, Kansas by Police Chief Richard LaMunyon. He though the torch run would help law enforcement become active in the community. Law enforcement members are deemed Guardians of the Flame: The Flame of Hope.
Since its inception, LETR has raised over one billion dollars.
