Biloxi PD Honors Fallen Officers

Biloxi police and loved ones gathered to honor the fallen officers from their department.
Four fallen brothers of the Biloxi Police Department were honored during this year’s ceremony. Emotions were high as poems were read and family members collected blue ribbons from Biloxi officials.
Biloxi native Marc Meaut stood in front of the crowd and thanked the police department for their sacrifice. Meaut’s father, a former lieutenant, lost his life on the job 25 years ago. “It gives us a chance to recognize the service and the sacrifice that they provide and at the same time, we get out and show our support. They had a 5K run over the weekend. Everyone is wearing blue. Everybody’s showing their support because without the police, our community would have fallen a long time ago. We wouldn’t be here without them,” said Meaut.
The Biloxi Police Department holds this ceremony every year during National Law Enforcement Appreciation Week.
