Harbors and marinas issue evacuation advisories, orders

Bay St. Louis has issued a mandatory evacuation order for the Bay St. Louis Municipal Harbor on Tuesday morning.

Boat owners are asked to immediately remove their boats from the harbor. The city will begin removing power pedestals from the docks Tuesday afternoon.

A voluntary evacuation was issued for Gulfport and Pass Christian harbors and marinas on Monday.

If the storm surge reaches above four feet that voluntary evacuation will turn into a mandatory evacuation, in which all boats located in those harbors and marinas must be evacuated.

The bridge at Bayou Portage will continue to operate and will open up every hour unless potential high winds prevent safe operation of the bridge.

Harrison County is also providing self serve sandbag locations which will open at 7AM on Tuesday.

A potential beach closure is also being considered, which if enforced would last from midnight of Tuesday to midnight of Friday. During that potential beach closure, any cars parked along the beach or in the beach parking bays is subject to towing.

We will continue to keep you updated with any further storm developments.
