9/4 – Trey Tonnessen’s “Flood Concerns” Wednesday Night 10:00 PM Forecast

Meteorologist Trey Tonnessen

The key focus over the next 36 hours will be monitoring the progress of the inverted surface trough along the Gulf coast how close it is to our area. The surface trough will linger over the area into Friday, exacerbating excessive rainfall concerns for much of the day. Simultaneously, the longwave trough over Louisiana will begin to dive and deepen into the eastern US… pushing a more substantial frontal boundary across the central states. This will be the primary mechanism that begins to kick the surface trough out of the area by the weekend.
