14-year-old charged with murder in death of 16-year-old

A 14-year-old has been charged in the shooting death of a 16-year-old in Harrison County   On Sunday.

Sheriff Matt Haley said that at about 2:30 p.m. Sunday, deputies responded to the 13000 block of Robindale Road in Gulfport for a reported shooting.

Upon arrival, a 16-year-old male was found in the street with one gunshot wound to the abdomen. He was airlifted to USA Children’s Hospital for treatment and died there.

Investigators found that a fist fight occurred between the suspect and victim which resulted in the victim being shot.

The 14-year-old was taken to the Harrison County Adult Detention Facility and charged with Murder (Second Degree).

The minor is being held in lieu of a $1,000,000 dollar bond set by Justice Court Judge Brandon Ladner.
