One shot in George County; suspect later shot in Mobile County
George County sheriff’s investigators are looking into the cause of a shooting that happened Thursday on a sandbar along the Escatawpa River.
It happened in the Baxter Avenue area.
The victim had to be airlifted to USA Hospital in Mobile due to their injuries.
Medical personnel say the victim underwent surgery and is expected to fully recover.
GCSO officials say a short time after the sandbar shooting, the alleged suspect in that case was shot in a separate shooting in Mobile County.
Law enforcement officials in both counties are now working together to investigate the connection between the two events and what led to both shootings.
