8/26 – Trey Tonnessen’s “National Dog Day” Monday Night Forecast
Meteorologist Trey Tonnessen
As the Mississippi Gulf Coast prepares for September, first we will head into the back half of the work week. Weekend rain chances look to remain near to slightly above normal. A ridge will be in control over the southeast through Friday, but as the ridge grows over the Rockies Heading into the weekend; there will troughing on the east side in response. This places us in between the ridge centered over the continental divide and the weak ridge over the Bahamas and Florida. Rich tropical moisture over the area would suggest broad troughing aloft. That would also indicate decent rain chances this weekend.
