Kiln man charged with murder after man dies following bar fight

A Kiln man has been charged with second-degree murder after a man died as a result of wounds from a bar fight.

Hancock County Sheriff Ricky Adam said 53-year-old Robert Hammac was arrested Monday on the charge. He was taken to the Hancock County jail. No bond has been set pending an initial appearance.

Adam said deputies were called to K&R’s Bar on Highway 90 at Lower Bay Road about 12:30 a.m. Saturday for a medical emergency after Hammac and 51-year-old Stanley Garcia got into a bar fight.

Garcia was taken to a Louisiana hospital with internal injuries and later died.
